PepsiCo Flexes Its Pricing Power
Image Shown: PepsiCo Inc is adeptly navigating various inflationary, labor, and logistical hurdles. Investors have started to warm back up to the name and its impressive pricing power over the past several months. On October 5, beverage and snack giant PepsiCo reported third-quarter earnings for fiscal 2021 (period ended September 4, 2021) that beat both consensus top- and bottom-line estimates. PepsiCo also raised its full-year guidance for fiscal 2021 in conjunction with the report.

Putting the Environmental in ESG
Image: This excerpt from the Valuentum Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Scoring System shows how environmental considerations are analyzed. Environmental considerations are just one piece of the ESG analysis, but they can reveal a lot about a company and its values. Companies that make a commitment to protecting the environment, especially those that are doing it better than their peers, are not only recognizing the social importance but also protecting themselves--and their investors--from negative financial impacts related to environment issues.

IBM Provides Investors with a Major Update
Image Source: International Business Machines Corporation – October 2021 IR Presentation. While still a major enterprise, International Business Machines Corp is no longer the tech juggernaut it used to be and hasn’t been a leading tech company for over a decade. The company recognizes this and back in October 2020, IBM announced that it planned to “separate its Managed Infrastructure Services unit of its Global Technology Services division into a new public company” that will be called Kyndryl. By the end of 2021, this tax-free spinoff is expected to be complete (shares of Kyndryl will be spun off to IBM shareholders). In October 2021, IBM provided a major update to its shareholders covering its medium-term financial outlook, key operational updates, and what to expect going forward as it concerns its dividend policy, areas that we are going to cover in this article.

Domino’s Pizza Is a Stellar FCF Generator with an Enormous Growth Runway
Image Source: Domino’s Pizza Inc – Second Quarter of Fiscal 2021 IR Earnings Presentation. One of our favorite capital appreciation ideas is Domino’s Pizza, and we include shares of DPZ as an idea in the Best Ideas Newsletter portfolio. The company’s unit economics are incredibly attractive for current and potential franchisees, which encourages current franchises to expand their existing operations and potential franchisees to join the team. At the top end of our fair value estimate range, Domino’s Pizza has a fair value of $541 per share, well above where shares of DPZ are trading at as of this writing.

Innovative Fuel Cell Company Ceres Power Has a Stellar Growth Outlook
Image Shown: Ceres Power Holdings plc is a pioneer in the fuel cell industry. If Ceres Power and its strategic partners are successful, Ceres Power could offer investors ample capital appreciation upside though we caution that this is a highly speculative name. Image Source: Ceres Power Holdings Plc – First Half of 2021 Interim Report IR Presentation. Ceres Power is a pioneer in an attractive industry and continues to secure crucial strategic collaboration agreements with major industrial players worldwide. The company’s capital appreciation upside potential could be quite substantial, especially as products built on its SteelCell technology progress from the pilot phase to the commercial phase, providing its core licensing and royalties business a major uplift. Its SOEC offerings could be another source of tremendous long-term upside, though again, these are still early days. Investors should be aware of this innovative company.

Markets Look Vulnerable, Adding "Protection"
The S&P 500 (SPY) and corresponding 50-day (green), 100-day (purple), and 200-day moving averages (red). We expect the SPY may have to "correct" to the 200-day moving average, or about $412-$413 per share before it finds its footing. Self-inflicted wounds the past several weeks have altered the market's sentiment for the worse, and we don't think the selling is done yet.

Best Idea Visa on the Rebound, Generating Gobs of Free Cash Flow
Image Shown: Visa Inc is a stellar free cash flow generator and is included as an idea in our Best Ideas Newsletter portfolio. Image Source: Visa Inc – Third Quarter of Fiscal 2021 IR Earnings Presentation. We are huge fans of the payment processing and payment solutions space. This industry is supported by secular growth tailwinds due to the global shift away from cash-to-card and card-not-present (e.g. online purchases) purchase options, and the ongoing proliferation of e-commerce. Furthermore, companies in this space benefit immensely from the network effect, which creates an economic moat for their business. These companies are incredibly lucrative with relatively high operating margins and impressive free cash flow generating abilities, aided by their relatively modest capital expenditure requirements to maintain a certain level of revenues. We include payment networks giant Visa as a “top-weighted” idea in the Best Ideas Newsletter portfolio and view its capital appreciation upside quite favorably, with the top end of our fair value estimate range sitting at $304 per share of Visa.

South32 Is a Great Miner
Image Shown: An overview of South32’s global asset base. We are big fans of the Australian miner. Image Source: South32 – Fiscal 2021 IR Earnings Presentation. Back in 2015, the mining giant BHP Group Ltd spun off South32. Since then, South32 has seen some major changes to its asset base through a combination of acquisitions, divestments, and organic investments. We include shares of South32’s American depository receipts (‘ADRs’) as an idea in the new ESG Newsletter portfolio. Each ADR represents five ordinary shares of South32. South32 is based in Perth, Australia, and we're huge fans of its pristine balance sheet, stellar free cash flow generating abilities, top-notch asset base, and bright growth outlook. The miner pays out a variable dividend and offers investors meaningful capital appreciation upside potential as well.

Update on High-Yielding AT&T
Image Source: AT&T Inc – Second Quarter of 2021 IR Earnings Presentation. The communications and media giant AT&T Inc is pivoting back to its roots, a strategy that we think will pay off handsomely in the long run, though there have been plenty of rough bumps along the way. Management has finally found a strategy that AT&T can stick with. We include AT&T as an idea in the High Yield Dividend Newsletter portfolio and shares of T yield ~7.7% as of this writing (note that the company will rightsize its dividend in the coming quarters, resulting in a yield adjustment lower).

Cisco Systems’ Growth Outlook Continues to Improve
Image Source: Cisco Systems Inc – 2021 Investor Day Event Presentation. Things at Cisco Systems are beginning to turn around and management made sure to highlight the company’s improving outlook during its big Investor Day event held on September 15. We include Cisco Systems as an idea in both the Best Ideas Newsletter and Dividend Growth Newsletter portfolios as the firm has a fortress-like balance sheet (i.e., large net cash position), tremendous free cash flow generating abilities, and its growth outlook has improved immensely since contending with serious headwinds from the worst of the coronavirus (‘COVID-19’) pandemic. Shares of CSCO yield ~2.6% as of this writing.
