Tallgrass Energy’s Growth Runway Shorter Than Expected
Image Source: Tallgrass Energy LP -- IR Presentation. We parted with Tallgrass as we see greater opportunities in other midstream firms and different parts of the high-yield universe, such as Enterprise Products Partners, which have stronger growth runways and assets that better cater to the ever-evolving needs of North America’s oil & gas industry. Recent weakness in TGE indicates the market is losing faith in Tallgrass’ growth trajectory and its future free cash flows.

Apple Breaking Out After Hours!
Apple is a top-weighted idea in the Best Ideas Newsletter portfolio and is also a mid-weighted idea in the Dividend Growth Newsletter portfolio. We added to Apple in both the Best Ideas Newsletter portfolio and Dividend Growth Newsletter portfolio in December 2018, and we added to it yet again in April 2019. We continue to like shares and value them at ~$220 each. We expect a modest upward revision following the report.

Google, Intel -- Yes!
Let's talk Google and Intel, remind you that we've removed Chipotle, Xilinx, and Boeing from the newsletter portfolios some time ago. I'll talk a little about PayPal's run higher and address some other themes, including contingent liabilities with J&J and 3M.

Valuentum Exclusive Yearly Round Up
"I want finance to learn from the past, the quantitative mistakes of yesteryear that brought the world economy to its knees. The misaligned incentives that created a massive bubble and subsequent housing market crash. The problems of leverage in yet another quant hedge fund Long Term Capital Management that caused panic in the late 1990s. Wall Street is not learning from history, and many are going wildly down the path of destruction. Don’t confuse indexing with a bull market. Pay attention to what you own. Stay diversified, and most of all, do your own due diligence." -- President of Investment Research, Brian Nelson, CFA

Valuentum's June Best Ideas Newsletter
Image: Page 49, June edition of American Library Association Booklist."I hope that my book Value Trap: Theory of Universal Valuation marks a turning point in the financial research industry. To you and me, 1) looking forward, 2) understanding that stock values are based on future expectations, and 3) calculating intrinsic value is simply par for the course. If other investors are not doing this, it should be no surprise that they are failing miserably. 90% underperformance! I hope my book serves as a wake up call for readers to demand forward-looking analysis and research that calculates a best fair value estimate." -- Brian Nelson, CFA

US Government Launches Anti-Trust War Against Alphabet, Apple, and Facebook
Image shown: Technology shares took a beating during the trading session June 3.The DOJ and FTC are coming after Alphabet. Apple, and Facebook, and we can’t help but feel the moves are in some ways politically motivated. Even if regulators decide to break up these companies, it doesn’t mean that they will “confiscate” their businesses. Worst case scenario, perhaps pieces of their businesses would be auctioned off at arguably above-market prices, which could be a net positive.
